BRIDGE to AFRICA 25-29. MAY.2026 Bridge To Africa – Event 2026

Bridge to Africa 2026

University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria | University of La Laguna | Casa África

25–29 MAY.

Bridge to Africa is an international strategic event that positions the Canary Islands as a platform for cooperation between Europe and Africa. The initiative is led by the two public universities in the Canary Islands—the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and the University of La Laguna—and is supported by Casa África, the Government of the Canary Islands, and the Cabildo of Gran Canaria.

Now in its second edition, Bridge to Africa brings together institutional leaders, researchers, international experts, companies, and organizations to reflect on the main challenges and opportunities for cooperation between the two continents.

Over the course of five days, the event will feature keynote speakers, institutional and business roundtables, sessions with technical experts, and the 4th International Congress of Young Researchers on Africa.

The program will address some of the key areas for shared development between the Canary Islands and Africa:

  • Environment and energy transition
  • Health and healthcare cooperation
  • Education and university cooperation
  • Sustainable economy and innovation
  • Culture, society, and African geopolitics

In addition, Bridge to Africa features a parallel cultural program with exhibitions, cultural events, and concerts that will introduce the public to the artistic diversity of the African continent.

Bridge to Africa thus establishes itself as a space for dialogue, knowledge, and collaboration that reinforces the Canary Islands’ role as a bridge between Europe and Africa.
