Universities

Information

In the following section you will find all the necessary information for the partner universities.

As we all know, the COVID-19 pandemic has been an unprecedented phenomenon for all of us and the evolving situation has presented us with new challenges on a daily basis. Time has passed since the Coronavirus outbreak, but it seems that a return to normality is not yet foreseeable.

At the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC), classes will start on Thursday 9 September 2021. However, considering the current situation in the Canary Islands and following the recommendations of our health authorities, it is very likely that classes will start online in many cases. If conditions become favourable as the weeks go by, we may be able to switch to blended learning, mixing classroom and online teaching to avoid having a large number of students in class.

Incoming mobility students who decide to continue with their plans to come to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria will be welcome to attend our online classes in the first instance, and hopefully physically on campus and in class for part of the semester. However, you should be aware that, although all our regular courses will be taught, your mobility experience could be altered by the current circumstances. However, you can be assured that you will be given the same opportunities as our students, both in terms of teaching and exams.

In case students prefer to postpone their mobility from the first to the second semester, their home coordinator should contact each School or Faculty to request a timely change in the existing arrangement. At the ULPGC, our intention is to reduce the number of restrictions or specificities in order to continue favouring student mobility.

Thanking you for your understanding, we will be happy to answer your questions and to help you whenever you wish.

If you wish to nominate your students for an exchange at the ULPGC, you will have to register them through our university’s computer platform.

We will send all the universities an email with the credentials so that they can access the platform.

If you have not received the credentials to be able to access the mobility platform, please contact us through the following link and put in the recipient selection “Mobility – IT Support”.

For Erasmus+ students we inform you that this year the Online Learning Agreement (OLA) platform will be used for the elaboration of the training agreement which will be a mandatory requirement for the new Erasmus+ programme 2021-2027.

The dates to nominate your students on the IT platform are as follows:

  • First semester and full year: 8 February to 31 May 2021
  • Second semester: From 1 October to 12 November 2021

We recommend that students wishing to study at the ULPGC have a B1 level of Spanish according to the CEFR. However, in the case of some Faculties/Schools or careers the recommended level of Spanish/English may be higher.
