Procedure for language level accreditation
The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) anticipates accreditation for university students in a European language different to their mother tongue. This accreditation may be granted via three channels:
– Directly if students have studied certain university qualifications (e.g., English Philology, Translation and Interpretation, or Modern Languages) and/or certain subjects
– Documentation submitted
– Passing a language level test
The ULPGC certifies different levels for the following languages: English, French, Spanish and German.
DATES TO CERTIFY YOUR LANGUAGE LEVEL BY HANDING-IN THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS [From 1st to 15th of each month, except January and August]
Within the timeframe established in the academic calendar, between the 1st and 15th of each month, students may telematically formalise their matriculation by printing two copies of the payment document, after which:
– payment of the established public price should be made
– the receipt of payment and documentation to request accreditation should be attached
– this should then be submitted to the General Registry of the ULPGC, situated at Calle Real de San Roque, no. 1 in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
All documentation presented in a language different to Spanish must be accompanied by its corresponding sworn translation if required, as outlined in Appendix II.
This type of direct recognition will be exclusively valid within the scope of the ULPGC. It is free and no certifications or diplomas will be issued.
To obtain this recognition, graduates pertaining to sections 2, 3 and 4 must first provide the original degree or certified copy to the General Registry of the ULPGC, situated at Calle Real de San Roque, no. 1 in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, for its inclusion in the university’s database.
Graduates pertaining to section 1 do not need to apply for recognition. It is direct. No diplomas will be issued but students may request and obtain certificates accrediting the language level that corresponds to their qualification by paying the price established in the Public Prices Act.
All documentation presented in a language different to Spanish must be accompanied by its corresponding sworn translation.
This type of recognition will be direct and will be exclusively valid in the scope of the ULPGC and for students who matriculate in the ULPGC. No certifications or diplomas will be issued and it will not be noted on the student’s academic record. Its sole purpose is to allow matriculation for the degree dissertation, its issue or access to a master’s programme.
