ULPGC action protocol on coronavirus for participants in mobility programmes

The Vice-rectorate for Internationalisation and Cooperation, headed by Vice-rector Richard Clouet, has made public a protocol of action of the ULPGC in relation to Covid-19 (Coronavirus) in relation to participants in mobility programmes. This protocol was approved in an extraordinary session of the Internationalisation and Cooperation Commission, delegated by the Governing Council, on Tuesday, 3rd March 2020.

Protocol of action of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC) in relation to Covid-19 (Coronavirus) with regard to participants in mobility programmes

In view of the health emergency caused by Covid-19 (Coronavirus), we urge the entire educational community, and in particular mobility students, to follow the instructions below.

1) The Vice-rectorate for Internationalisation and Cooperation will contact the mobility students in the risk areas to inform them of the indications of the Spanish Service for the Internationalisation of Education (SEPIE) regarding the coronavirus, requesting maximum peace of mind and collaboration with the local authorities.

2) Students and staff at their host universities should carefully follow the indications of the local authorities and their host universities. They will provide them with the information telephone numbers and the Spanish consulates, as well as any updated information.

3) In the event that they return from so-called risk areas, it is important that they follow the recommendations of the Ministry of Health, Consumer Affairs and Social Welfare (Spanish).

4) Updated information on risk areas can be found on the website of the Ministry of Health, Consumer Affairs and Social Welfare (Spanish).

5) Mobility students who have interrupted their mobility and returned early must contact the International Relations Office (relint@ulpgc.es) and their corresponding Mobility Office as soon as possible for issues related to the management of their grant. Furthermore, students should contact the Academic Coordinators of the Centres who will be at their disposal for any additional queries regarding their re-registration in the corresponding minutes and their return to classes.

6) Participants in mobility programs who plan to postpone or suspend their stay in risk areas should contact the International Relations Office (admrelint@ulpgc.es) to make the appropriate arrangements.
